Soft Bar | Thoughtful Design Meets Mindful Hospitality by Bolt Builds
 
Bolt Builds partnered with Carl Radke to design and build Soft Bar, a first-of-its-kind non-alcoholic bar and café in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Created as a stylish and inclusive alternative to traditional nightlife, Soft Bar redefines how New Yorkers can gather, socialize, and enjoy drinks without alcohol. Inspired by Radke’s own five-year sobriety journey, the concept goes beyond the typical sterile NA lounge to become a versatile third-space for wellness, creativity, and community connection.

The 2,300-square-foot space, once an industrial garage, has been transformed through Bolt’s integrated design and fabrication approach. Exposed brick and concrete floors set the stage for a space softened by natural materials, warm wood fixtures, plush seating, and muted pastel tones, while a striking glass façade and infinite bar create a sense of openness and flow. From morning through evening, Soft Bar evolves effortlessly: serving locally roasted coffee and functional adaptogen drinks during the day, offering a welcoming workspace and creative studio, and transforming into a soft-cocktail bar and event destination at night.

More than just a bar, the project embodies Radke’s mission to create a safe, stylish, and health-conscious space where anyone, sober, sober-curious, or simply seeking something new, can feel at home. Through thoughtful design and fabrication, Bolt Builds helped bring Soft Bar to life, setting a new standard for non-alcoholic hospitality in New York City.

Ipanema | Brazilian-Inspired Hospitality Design by Bolt Builds

Ipanema, located in Midtown Manhattan, is a hospitality project that redefines the Brazilian dining experience through a modern New York lens. Bolt Builds, a design, build, and custom fabrication studio based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, oversaw every phase of this project, from schematic design and renderings to fabrication, finishing, and installation, ensuring a cohesive vision at every stage.

The process began with Bolt’s design team developing a mood board that encapsulates the brand identity and a flow analysis of the way guests and staff will move through the space. After that, detailed models and photorealistic renderings are created, allowing the client to preview how the space would come alive through lighting, material choices, and architectural flow. These designs moved seamlessly into production at Bolt’s in-house fabrication facility, where the team prototyped unconventional millwork and tested new fabrication methods before moving into full-scale production.

Custom-built elements that define the restaurant’s identity include CNC-milled woodwork, woven rope ceilings, patterned terrazzo flooring, brass inlays, and bespoke lighting fixtures. Because design, prototyping, and fabrication all happened under one roof, the transition from concept to construction was both efficient and precise, eliminating the gaps that often occur between designers and contractors.

The result of Ipanema is an interior that feels immersive, rhythmic, and distinctly Brazilian, yet rooted in Manhattan’s modern energy. By uniting design, fabrication, and construction under one roof, Bolt Builds delivered a hospitality project that embodies a sensory paradise while evoking the fluid beauty of the Amazon River.

Mazarine | Sculpted Dining in the Heart of Mayfair by Bolt Builds

Bolt Builds conceptualized and designed the interior for Mazarine, a refined coastal French restaurant located within the Mandarin Oriental in Mayfair. The design explores fluid form, texture, and atmosphere—creating a dining environment that feels immersive, calm, and sculptural rather than literal.

Inspired by movement and material depth, the space is shaped through soft curves, layered surfaces, and a restrained, natural palette. A monolithic stone bar, sculptural lighting elements, and custom furniture anchor the room, while tactile finishes and subtle tonal variation add warmth and visual rhythm throughout.

In addition to leading the design concept, Bolt handled FFE sourcing and construction administration, ensuring continuity from early vision through final execution. The result is a cohesive, elevated dining space where architecture, furnishings, and detail work come together seamlessly to support Mazarine’s culinary experience.

The Druid Garden | Contemporary Restaurant Design in Bangalore by Bolt Builds

Inspired by nature and the garden, The Druid Garden in Bangalore, India, is a striking 23,000 SF hospitality project where modern brewery design meets cultural craftsmanship. Bolt Builds, a Brooklyn-based design, build and fabrication studio reimagined this expansive restaurant by drawing inspiration from the natural landscape and infusing the interiors with outdoor materials and organic geometries.

From the moment guests arrive, they are greeted by bold architectural gestures, angular thresholds, soaring ceilings, and a dramatic two-sided staircase that anchors the space and creates multiple layers of experience. The interiors combine concrete, brick, teak wood, and lush greenery with vivid colors and playful patterns, resulting in a setting that feels deeply rooted in place. To ensure authenticity, Bolt Builds worked closely with skilled local artisans and used locally sourced materials from Bangalore, weaving handmade textures and bespoke details into the design.

The result is a space that harmonizes craft, culture, and innovation into a full-circle experience. By merging local materiality with international design sensibilities, The Druid Garden establishes itself as one of the most distinctive brewery and restaurant interiors in Bangalore, showcasing how Bolt Builds delivers hospitality spaces that balance durability, beauty, and immersive atmosphere.

Upside Pizza SoHo | A Classic Slice Shop Reimagined by Bolt Builds

Bolt Builds partnered with Upside Pizza to design and build their SoHo location, channeling the spirit of New York’s classic slice shop through a modern, elevated lens.

The space blends playful energy with refined detailing—anchored by checkered tile floors, warm wood paneling, green banquette seating, and a clean, neutral ceiling that keeps the focus on the counter and brand experience. Bolt led the kitchen design and custom fabrication, delivering the full project in just 4.5 months from start to finish.

Through an integrated design, build, and fabrication process, Upside SoHo captures the brand’s bold personality while offering a timeless, neighborhood-friendly destination in Lower Manhattan.

Agency of Record | A Sleek, Full-Service Interior by Bolt Builds

Located in Midtown Manhattan NYC, Agency of Record is a meticulously executed 3,000 sq ft interior completed in just 11 months. Bolt Builds, a Brooklyn-based design-build-fabrication studio, masterfully handled everything, from interior design, lighting design, rendering, and FF&E sourcing to custom fabrication and full-service construction.

Agency of Record is a cocktail lounge and restaurant nestled in the heart of the historic Renwick Hotel in Midtown Manhattan. An ode to the Mad Men era, the project is designed through the lens of the golden age of advertising and the old-school glamour of New York City, setting the scene to capture the essence of mid-century New York with a playful twist. Fit for an indulgent midday martini, the space is also designed for dancing the night away. With a fully equipped DJ booth and state-of-the-art sound system; every moment is a celebration of the eclectic spirit.

The Bolt Team carved out the space with moody intimate corners and lounge-like atmosphere. The design philosophy revolved around the tactile and the personal. Through layered patterns and meticulously selected textures, including rich cut velvets, fluted glass, decorative fringe, custom lighting, and millwork fabricated in Bolt’s workshop in Greenpoint, Brooklyn; every element was carefully selected and serves as a testament to their commitment to crafting an experience where comforting nostalgia is greeted with a contemporary touch.

Telfar Flagship | Custom Lightbox Menu Board by Bolt Builds 

Located inside Century 21 in downtown Manhattan NYC, Telfar’s first flagship store features a custom illuminated lightbox fabricated entirely in-house by Bolt Builds. Drawing inspiration from Chinatown fast food menu boards, the installation transforms everyday urban signage into a bold retail statement. The glowing display highlights Telfar’s iconic bag collection while serving as both a branding element and an architectural focal point.

Bolt Builds fabricated and built a modular steel bar system for Red Bull, engineered to perform in fast-paced, high-volume event environments. Wrapped in McNICHOLS CO. perforated metal, the structure balances durability with a bold, industrial aesthetic.

The system integrates digital displays, illuminated branding, and pre-finished lower panels, creating a strong visual anchor while supporting efficient service and adaptability across venues. Designed with both function and impact in mind, the bar delivers a clean, striking presence that complements the energy of live events.

Telo Labs | Redefining the Medical Spa Experience by Bolt Builds

Bolt Builds partnered with Telo Labs to design and build a revolutionary medical spa in New York City that merges science with hospitality. Conceived as a modern wellness destination, Telo Labs redefines the medical spa experience by creating an environment that feels both restorative, modern and elevated.

The design is anchored in contrast with rich, dark oak cabinetry and trim set against soft serene walls that establish a sense of warmth and sophistication. A custom reception desk, crafted from glass block panels with integrated lighting, serves as a luminous focal point that welcomes guests and sets the tone for the experience. Stainless steel details and curated material pairings further enhance the balance of modernity and elegance throughout the space.

Long Branch Home | A Modern Coastal Retreat Curated by Bolt Builds

Bolt Builds designed a contemporary vacation home in Long Branch, crafting a serene retreat defined by neautral materials, clean lines, and carefully curated furnishings.

At the heart of the home is a custom white oak staircase with glass paneling, creating a light-filled architectural moment that separates the dining and living spaces with ease. The dining area features a sculptural light fixture and a deep-toned marble table that plays against natural light to create a refined atmosphere.

Bolt Builds led a comprehensive FFE selection process, visiting over 20 showrooms with the client to curate furniture, fixtures, and materials that reflect a modern, restful sensibility. Throughout the home, natural wood tones, and soft textures come together to shape an environment designed for comfort, clarity, and restoration.

Brooklyn Mirage | Geometric Illusion and Immersive Atmosphere by Bolt Builds

Bolt Builds designed the feature stage wall cladding for Brooklyn Mirage, creating a sculptural backdrop that enhances both the visual identity and the experiential energy of the venue.

The design centers on a single-line diamond geometry, traced continuously to form an optical illusion that shifts with movement and light.
